Breakfast for the Brain


The Breakfast for the Brain series is a professional development program geared towards mid career professionals. The series will cover topics in leadership, management, and business skills. Speakers from various industries will be invited to speak.

Corporate Connection


An annual event hosted by the Chapter to recognize existing supporters of the organization as well as to invite new companies partner. Additionally, partners invite members throughout the year for meet and greets.

Employment Network


An online job bank that allows individuals to post their resumes so that our partners can search for qualified applicants. The job bank features our partners open positions as well.

Each month the Chapter will hold a general meeting for membership, which includes a program on a relevant topic to personal development.

Leaders of Tomorrow


The National Black MBA Association, Inc. (NBMBAA) is a professional business organization focused on increasing educational and career opportunities within the Black community. Leaders of Tomorrow, a local and national initiative sponsored by chapters throughout the country, is a high school mentorship program designed to expose minority youth to African American business professionals and assist in identifying positive career and educational options.

For over a decade, this successful program has provided a positive influence to high school students with a grade point average between C- and C+, who have exhibited leadership potential, but require additional motivational factors in their lives to achieve excellence.

Scholarship


The Kansas City Chapter annually awards scholarships to top candidates identified through an annual essay competition. Recipients are selected based upon their grade point average, written response to an essay topic, verbal communication skills, extra-curricular activity and community involvement.

Eligibility Requirements:

High School Seniors
 Graduating from a Kansas City metropolitan area high school; minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.

Undergraduates
 Graduated from a Kansas City metropolitan area high school; minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA; enrolled full-time in an accredited undergraduate business or management program towards a Bachelors degree.

We realize that not only do our members need professional development but a chance to unwindwe provide that as well.
